Sarah Melvin is an Australian artist, currently living in the Encinitas area of Southern California.
Her work is dark, expressive, and evocative. Drawing on both surrealism and expressionism, the features of the people in her life are her influence and are communicated through ink, acrylics and mixed media on canvas and aquarelle paper.
Sarah holds a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts and is currently completing her Masters at RMIT University & UC Berkeley.
Paintings and drawings by Sarah Melvin reside in the private collections of musicians, architects and art collectors all over the world.
My Husband is a founding member and guitarist in the Punk Rock band NOFX. A lot of my art I draw from inspiration when touring with the husband. I am very much apart of the Punk Rock Art community and often have my art in ‘Punk Rock and Paintbrushes’. A lot of my art has ‘colorful language’ as the art piece name (which I have edited for Art San Diego so I don’t get in trouble) 🙂
I am also a mother of identical twin girls and have two super step sons – our house is filled with art and music! we have an outdoor art studio which I use for myself while my twin toddlers also paint.
