Every one of us has experienced darkness in our lives, and that pain is what draws us to the light.
As an artist I believe in the raw, real, vulnerability that comes with displaying that darkness and the affects it has had on your soul. Yet, I also believe there is light in each of us, and it is seen best in contrast to the darkness. Being able to appreciate the darkness, and seek out the light is my motivation as an artist. In my pieces, as in life, I love the juxtaposition of both, and how your response creates your identity.
By using contrast, shadow, and negative space, with items that are seen as luxury and very tactile, you can explore the areas within yourself where you need to let in more light. My work exists to help you appreciate both.
I believe the world needs more light, and I want my art to draw your eye to it.
